ترجمه فارسی به اخی‌زاده علی چلبی منسوب است که از متن اصلی ترکی (فصل سوم) با عنوان «تاریخ هند غربی» یا «حدیث نو» اثر محمد بن حسن سعودی (درگذشته ۱۵۹۱) انجام شده است. این متن برای سلطان مراد سوم عثمانی در سال ۱۵۸۳ میلادی بر اساس کتاب «تاریخ عمومی هند» اثر فرانسیسکو لوپز د گومارا تدوین شده بود.
